REFLECTION OF THE YEAR 2021

STREETLIFTING

Dear streelifters, dear officials, dear friends,

In 2021, we were able to cope with the restrictions on holding competitions caused by the coronavirus pandemic. The online format of competitions developed by us, which is held simultaneously from several cities of different countries, made it possible to hold competitions even in the conditions of closed borders. This format of the competition has proven itself well and has enabled athletes and their representatives to save on transportation costs. But, unfortunately, this year we failed to realize our goal of holding the European Championship in five countries at the same time. This time there were 3 of them – Russia, Kazakhstan and Turkey. We are working to enable more athletes to take part in international competitions in 2022.

In November 2021, the ISF continental representation “Euro Streetlifting Federation” (EUSF) was officially registered in the Netherlands. Paco Podunajec has been appointed Acting President of the new division. We wish our colleagues to realize their goals and objectives in the development and popularization of streetlifting in Europe.

Looking forward to 2022, I strongly encourage all ISF National Federations to get in contact with their clubs to ensure they are nominating streetlifters for our first ISF World Streetlifting Championships to be held in June 2022 in Moscow (Russia), ISF Asian Streetlifting Championships to be held in May 2022 in Uralsk (Kazakhstan). In addition, I impress upon all European Nations to nominate streetlifters for the EUSF European Cup to be held on-line in December and it will be held simultaneously from several countries.

I want to close with wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a better 2022 than the last 2 years. Take care, stay safe and make sure you don’t get sick.

Best regards

Ararat Gulian
ISF President
